His Majesty Sultan Haitham concludes his visit to Berlin, paving the way for deeper and stronger Oman-German relations
Berlin, Germany – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik concluded a historic visit to Germany on Friday, opening a new phase in relations between the two countries.
The new phase of bilateral relations was launched by a historic summit meeting between His Majesty the Sultan, Olaf Scholz, Chancellor of Germany, and President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
This visit bodes well for the continuation of the partnership in various fields, including economy, investment, renewable energy, green energy, and scientific and cultural fields.
On Friday, His Majesty the Sultan was granted an official reception at Bellevue Palace in Berlin. Later, Her Majesty and President Steinmeier held a series of official talks during which the latter expressed his joy at Her Majesty’s visit to Germany. He praised the deep relations between the two countries.
In turn, His Majesty the Sultan expressed his gratitude for the hospitality extended to him and his delegation. Her Majesty hailed the strong ties of friendship between Oman and Germany. The talks focused on the scope of future cooperation and explored ways to improve ties in various fields in a way that meets the aspirations of their friendly peoples.
Meeting with Scholz
On Thursday, His Majesty the Sultan and Chancellor Scholz held a meeting. On Her Majesty’s arrival at the Chancellery, he was greeted by the Chancellor and senior German officials.
Then, His Majesty the Sultan attended a lunch given in his honor by the German Chancellor to mark his visit.
During the banquet, His Majesty the Sultan and Chancellor Scholz reviewed the growing bilateral relationship and discussed ways to improve the existing cooperation and partnership to serve the common interests of the Omani and German peoples.
They also exchanged views on a variety of issues of common interest in the context of developments in regional and international arenas.
His Majesty the Sultan also granted an audience to several German businessmen and CEOs on Thursday. The meeting aimed to strengthen trade relations and promote investment opportunities between the two countries in various fields.
